ENLITEN

Debuting an innovative tyre technology that achieves both environmental and driving performance.

ENLITEN®, Bridgestone’s new base technology for premium product design, elevates conventional tyres by enhancing environmental performance while also exceeding customer and market demands in product performance. Through the advanced performance attributes of ENLITEN® technology, Bridgestone is focused on increasing social value and customer value.

Bridgestone is supplying tyres equipped with ENLITEN® technology for the BWSC to help teams meet the extreme demands of the event, including safety, low energy consumption, low rolling and air resistance, and more. Furthermore, our BWSC tyres have a recycled and renewable material ratio (MCN – Material Circularity Number) of 60% or more, the latest milestone in our efforts to develop a tyre that can contribute to a sustainable mobility society.

BRIDGESTONE WORLD SOLAR CHALLENGE

The ultimate solar car event that involves teams from all over the world.

The Bridgestone World Solar Challenge (BWSC) is the world's highest peak solar car event that uses sunlight as a power source and spans approximately 3,000 km across the Australian continent over approximately five days. Various solar cars carrying the dreams of young engineers from all over the world will run through to the future.

Teams in the Bridgestone World Solar Challenge have left Darwin and are now making their way on the 3,000km journey towards Adelaide. Young engineers from around the world are pushing the boundaries of solar technology. After months of unwavering commitment and passion from building their cars to passing scrutineering checks, they are now facing the ultimate challenge after leaving the Darwin start line.

It’s all happening in the Bridgestone World Solar Challenge with the leaders charging towards Adelaide, and teams passing the halfway point in Alice Springs. Made from 63% recycled and renewable materials, teams have been putting our ENLITEN equipped tyres to the test and are showcasing how efficient they are in their first-ever competitive event - with the journey so far showcasing the efficiency of low rolling resistance, wear resistance and lightweight design is providing.

After 3,000km under the harsh Australian sun, the Innoptus Solar Team has crossed the line to WIN the 2023 Bridgestone World Solar Challenge. We’re thrilled to have been a part of the journey, testing and learning from teams on the road for our ENLITEN tyre technology, allowing innovations in sustainable mobility to showcase our developments.

As the dust settles in the vast Australian outback, let’s celebrate all the ingenious minds that sparked a brilliant display of innovation in this year’s Bridgestone World Solar Challenge. From the scrutineering stages of their cars to overcoming formidable road conditions and customs delays -with their unwavering determination - our teams embraced and conquered every challenge.
